Perhaps many Nazarenes do not know that in Caracas and Miranda, Venezuela there are 4 Haitian Churches with a membership of approximately 400 persons that form their own district. The Haitians arrived in Venezuela bringing the Church of the Nazarene with them and installing themselves as immigrants in these cities to work as merchants, clothes makers, and cooks. The majority of the Haitians in Venezuela send money back to Haiti to help their families. Many of them are staying in Venezuela indefinitely and have children that were born in Venezuela, who practice the customs of both Haiti and Venezuela. Please pray with us for these churches: Antimano with Pastor Stny Vertus, Catia with Pastor Edrean Occeas, La Vega with Pastor Yjuin Edmon, and Cartanal with Pastor Gilbert Joseph. The superintendent of this district has informed us that he believes in the coming days they will discover more Nazarene Haitians in Venezuela that have lost family members in the earthquake.     See more news »
