(NCSA Peru) The Graduation ceremony of the New Horizon satellite campus of Nazarene Theological Seminary Peru (STNP) was held in an atmosphere of celebration. Reverend Gregorio Garman, District Superintendent of the Los Angeles District, USA, was the special preacher invited. He shared an inspiring and challenging message from God’s Word, reminding the graduates that the call to ministry, as part of God’s perfect plan, includes pastoring, evangelizing, and serving. To illustrate his message, Rev. Garman used a staff to represent the work of a pastor, a net to illustrate our call to be “fishers of men,” and a towel and basin to symbolize the call to Christian service.

Following a tradition in the seminary, the graduating class named themselves “The Gregorio y Leslie Garman class,” in recognition of their ministry. Aubree Garman, daughter-in-law of the Garmans, participated in the program through the worship songs, which were a great blessing to the congregation.

Attending the graduation service were also, Dr. Evelio Vasquez, Rector of STNP; Dr. Jorge Julca, Regional Education Coordinator; Rev. Edgardo Roman, director of the New Horizon Satellite Campus, and the District Superintendents of the area served by the Satellite Campus.

Additionally, a group of youth from the Santa Rosa Church of the Nazarene in Chiclayo joined their pastor and local leaders to be present at the graduation and to spend a day of evangelism to the children of the Awajun communities of the area.

The New Horizon Satellite Campus is an extension of STNP, providing holistic formation to ministers of evangelism in a variety of Districts in the jungle of Peru, especially among the Awajun churches.
