(NCSA Brasil) The Church of the Nazarene in Manaus with the support of SDMI, Nazakids, NMI, and the Pueblos project carried out a project called “My first missions trip.” Manauaran children spent the last few months learning about missions, praying, writing (or drawing) to, and giving offerings for missionaries.

At the end of the project, on October 12, 2019 the children were able to take a trip on the “Jesus is the Hope” boat in order to visit the river-side and indigenous communities along the Black River. The little ones visited 3 communities to evangelize and to invite the children to participate in a mini Vacation Bible School.

Children from the three communities participated in the Vacation Bible School and while that was happening, there was a meeting for women in the Nova Canaã Community. On Sunday there was a Sunday School class held for the community before returning back to Manaus.

This was an impactful experience for the children as they saw a little bit about what it is like to be a missionary and live in an Amazon community. The project’s objective is to instill early a passion for missions through involvement and prayer. At the end of the trip, the children were blessed with a wonderful morning of rest and fun at the riverside beach on the banks of the Cuieiras River.

The Jesus is the Hope boat has been an instrument to boost Nazarene Missions in the Amazon Region, our thanks to all those who have supported this Nazarene boat.
