(NCSA) For the first time ever NMI, held its annual Global Council meeting outside of the United States, choosing Guatemala City as the sight for the meeting.

On January 27, 2019 representatives from the council participated in worship services at the Church of the Nazarene in Landivar with Stephen Phillips, Africa Regional NMI Coordinator, preaching. After the service there was a time of fellowship with the missions leaders from the local church. In the evening they shared a meal with the missionaries living in the country, who were able to express their gratitude to NMI and to put words to the importance of the work of NMI for missionaries serving on the field.

On Monday the 28th the business of the Global Council began. Regional representatives of NMI participated: Lola Brickey (USA/Canada – Global Director), Stephen Phillips (Africa), Dr. Lynn Shmidt (Eurasia), Ana Crocker (Mesoamerica), Ruth Bravo (South America); Phillip Weatherill, Global President of NMI; Dr. Verne Ward, Global Missions Director, Dr. Gustavo Crocker, General Superintendent in jurisdiction over NMI; along with other global missions personal.

“They were two blessed days, we received reports of what God is doing in the different regions, of the goals that have been met and the challenges we are still facing, and we have high expectations of what God will do through missions in this new time, through the church,” said Ruth Bravo, South America Regional NMI Coordinator.
