(NCSA Peru) A “Messengers for Jesus” VBS training was held by the Central Peru district SDMI board January 5th of this year. The training was held in the Pueblo Libre Church of the Nazarene on the district.

All of the churches on the Central Peru District were invited to participate in this activity that was intended for local SDMI presidents, children’s ministry directors, and VBS directors and teachers from each local church.

Topics included “The ABC’s of VBS,” Biblical fundamentals of developing and organizing a VBS, functions and responsibilities of directors and teachers, strategic partners, and helpers.

Also, a new VBS format was presented for 2019 called “Messengers for Jesus” with songs, dances, lessons and a plan for scheduling the Bible School.

The teachers were given time to participate in the presentation and give suggestions to further develop the times within the VBS. The curriculum is intended for three age groups: preschool, primary, and elementary.

It was a blessed time and full of learning, more than 50 people across the Central Peru District participated. We would like to thank Yelka Liliana Reaño de Bernales who was the leader of the training and proposed this VBS, and all the brothers and sisters in Christ who supported the organization of this training.
