(NCSA Chile) Years ago, God gave Cristiane Polonio a dream to gather women from all over Chile for a retreat. For the past three years she has been serving with Women’s ministry in Chile. When she took over the national leadership of the ministry, the only other leader was Eliana Mora of the Bío Bío District.

With prayer and training several new leaders were prepared for Women’s ministry. Leaders such as Debora Acuña, María Paz del Canto and Ana Mardones from the Central, Nothern, and Lakes districts respectfully. The leadership of the ministry in Chile was forming.

In 2017 they gathered for a conference in the Church of the Nazarene in Viña del Mar with women from two districts, the Central District and Bío Bío districts. 120 women attended this first conference. Later that year 80 women gathered from the Northern and Haulpén Districts, and 160 women gathered representing the three southern districts in the country.

Finally, August 30 – September 1, 2019 the dream of a national women’s retreat was made a reality with 170 women from every district in the country. They gathered to be transformed. 2 Corinthians 3:18 was the theme verse for their time together, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” Waner Nunes, Regional Women’s Ministries Coordinator, was the speaker for the retreat, along with Cristiane, and 17 pastors ministering to small groups.

During the event God spoke in many ways. One of the participants commented that is was the first time in her life that she sensed the Holy Spirit and she cried like a baby. God did miracles in a number of ways: by providing money for women who needed it to go and find her son, restoring marriages, and healing sicknesses. The women who gathered were between 14 years of age to 92, all with the same heart to draw closer to God.

During the event a new national leader for Women’s Ministry was presented, Pastor Ana Mardones. There was also emotional thanks shown to Cristiane Polonio, who will be moving to Argentina, after her years of service to the ministry in Chile.

“I just have to thank God for this time of service. I know that He will continue blessing this ministry through the leadership of the new leader, because God is faithful.” Were the words of Cristiane Polonio.
